A sad end to 2023

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Bryan Ansell. A gamer, collector and leading light in the hobby. Bryan was the founder of Asgard Miniatures, ran Citadel Miniatures from a grotty warehouse next to the river in Newark and went on to Manage Games Workshop and Wargames Foundry.

I remember him as a young man being kind to young gamers with little money, (we used to buy metal figures by weight almost), and he was always welcoming. Some years later he was kind enough to give my young daughter a metal Giraffe on one of our visits to Stoke which she painted and still owns.

Whilst covid lockdowns put a stop to my deliveries of cigars to him from here in the US, I hope to visit again as soon as work allows.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family.
